Gästgivars is one of seven farms inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List as part
of the “Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland.” out of about one thousand
Hälsingland farmhouses, these are considered the best preserved!
Step inside the magnificent festivities building, built in 1840 just for a single
wedding, and let history come to life through our knowledgeable guides. Hear the
tale of the legendary Gästgivars legend and learn about the customs and traditions
that shaped these grand farmhouses—rural mansions that reflect a truly unique
farming culture in 19th-century Hälsingland.
Welcome to our café in the charming old barn! Take a break and enjoy a
relaxing moment with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors.
This year, the café is run by the two sisters Mimmi and Emilie, offering a
delightful selection of light meals, sandwiches, homemade pastries, ice
cream, and local delicacies – such as Hälsinge cheesecake with cloudberry
jam.
At Gästgivars, we also welcome our youngest visitors! Here, they can explore
playful spaces, create, and enjoy free play. We also have our own farm,
here you can get close to sheep, cows, chickens and rabbits. Feed and get to
know the animals that have helped man for generations.
In our garden, we grow fresh vegetables for our café, alongside a variety
of flowers. We also have Gästgivars’ very own small farm, in
collaboration with the Nytorp Agricultural School.
Step into our beautifully restored two-story stable and explore a
carefully handpicked selection of unique products. Our store offers
exclusive designs inspired by the farm’s historic wall decorations,
available as textiles, trays, napkins, blankets, and much more.
